Sarah Card is the Founder + Interior Designer behind the full-service design studio, Traelast Interior Design, based in Hudson, WI. Sarah works with families and individuals who strive for intentionality in their homes and lives, locally and beyond.
Bolstered by her curious nature, Sarah has spent the better part of two decades honing multi-disciplinary + organizational skills that serve her in this role.
As the visibility of her work grows, so does her circle of collaboration. Sarah passionately works alongside talented individuals on all aspects of the design process. She prides herself on calling attention to the connection between the client and space, incorporating elements inspired by their lived experiences to tell their story. Sarah's signature aesthetic can be described as warm and modern, favoring clean lines and natural materials, keeping impact and longevity top of mind.
Sarah has established a robust rolodex of artists, artisans, vintage curators, and preferred trade partners that foster originality in the designs for her clients.
On a personal level, Sarah understands active families, because she has one. She and her husband, Casey, are at the helm of busyness themselves. With two full-time careers, four boys; Jackson, Drake, Sullivan, and Adler, and a sheepadoodle, Solie… a beautiful, livable, function-forward home is essential.
Outside of work, you can find Sarah supporting her boys in school, sports, and life; at the family lake house on Little McDonald Lake in Perham, MN; and connecting with close friends. Sarah’s belief in personal growth keeps her reading, learning, and stretching her creative muscles. She loves travel and adventuring off the beaten path where she can soak in the inspiration around her.
When the design of your home is uncompromising in telling your story,
it stands alone and outlasts
passing trends.
Lumberyard translated in Danish is traelast.
As a young girl I would watch my grandpa in his wood shop as he turned wood on the lathe. While he created simple, yet beautiful pieces, I would gather the scraps to make my own creations. The wood shop was a former lumberyard building that was dismantled and rebuilt on my grandpa's property, where it stood for nearly a hundred years.
With Norweigian roots, it's second nature that I'm drawn to Scandinavian design. The clean, simple lines, and functionality without sacrificing beauty pull me in.
Traelast is a representation of who I am, and what inspires me.
